Troy Miller is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, conductor and producer; a rare talent whose artistry transcends the confines of genre. He has worked as producer on albums with Jamie Cullum (Island Records), Laura Mvula (Sony), Gregory Porter (Blue Note) and Rag n Bone Man while his conducting roles have taken him to the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia and BBC Concert orchestras among others. Troy studied at the Guildhall School of music where he is now a visiting professor. In his early career Troy started as a drummer, performing and recording with the likes of American vibes legend Roy Ayers, Don Blackman, Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson. Highlights of Troy’s collaborations include: Adele, Lu Lu, Chaka Khan, Cliff Richard, Macy Gray, Branford Marsalis, Kyle Eastwood, Gary Bartz, Lonnie Liston Smith, Daniel Merriweather, Suggs, Gloria Gaynor, Grace Jones, Sister Sledge, Q‑Tip, Donna Summer and Mark Turner. Troy has been a Yamaha and Sabian artist for nearly 10 years and has performed many masterclasses on their behalf.

PRODUCER & WRITER
As a prolific and talented producer and Ivor Novello award winning writer Troy has produced albums including Laura Mvula’s The Dreaming Room, Grammy Award winning Gregory Porter’s More Liquid Spirit, Rebecca Ferguson’s Superwoman & Lady Sings The Blues and Becca Stevens’ Regina. He also co produced and cowrote the hit Giant with Calvin Harris and Rag n bone man – which hit the iTunes Charts at Number 1 (Jan 2019), produced tracks from Newton Faulkner’s Hit The Ground Running, and worked on John Newman’s record Tribute which has sold over 1.3 million copies in the UK. He has just finished producing Jamie Cullum’s latest album due for release on Island Records as well as a track with Gregory Porter for the Andrew Lloyd Webber 70th anniversary album for Polydor. Troy also collaborated on JP Coopers album Raised Under Grey Skiesin 2017. Troy is currently working on music for a solo album.
ORCHESTRAL PROJECTS
Troy has worked with orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra and returned to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in 2017 in a concert of his own arrangements of Laura Mvula’s studio albums for Symphony Orchestra to a sold-out Barbican.
2019 brought the exciting collaboration with Stewart Copeland and the Lights Up the Orchestra tour which Troy conducted and has helped co-arrange and orchestrate selected pieces on. Troy’s unique skillset and collaborations have led to many exciting orchestral projects across diverse artists and genres. Existing concert programmes include shows with singers such as Laura Mvula and Gregory Porter (premieres with Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra, May 2018); and an evening of Gershwin including star vocalists like Laura Mvula, Gregory Porter, Gretchen Parlato and Becca Stevens.
