1/2/2019
Troy Miller performs his arrangements of Gershwin conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra. He is joined by singers Laura Mvula and Shaun Escoffery. Following the success of his Gershwin Reimagined project at the Concertgebouw in 2018, it re-imagines classics from the Gershwin songbook such as Embraceable You, I Got Rhythm and Summertime alongside original music from Laura Mvula and Shaun Escoffery arranged for symphony orchestra. A prolific producer, Troy has worked with artists including Gregory (Blue Note), Jamie Cullum (Island Records) and Laura Mvula (Sony) while his conducting roles have taken him to the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Netherlands Radio Phil and BBC Concert orchestras among others. Highlights of Troy’s artist collaborations also include Adele, Lu Lu, Rag n Bone Man, Chaka Khan and many more and his unique skillset allows for many exciting orchestral projects across diverse genres.
His most recent single “Giant”, co- written and co- produced with Calvin Harris and Rag n bone man has reached 13 million views on YouTube.
Gershwin Reimagined will also be performed on tour in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as part of the Melbourne Jazz Festival and with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra later in 2019.
