Miller has also recently worked with Gregory Porter on a track for the Andrew Lloyd Webber 70th anniversary album for Polydor. Miller makes his debut conducting at the Concertgebouw in June 18 with singers Gretchen Parlato and Laura Mvula with his Gershwin Re-Imagined project.
As a young boy, Porter felt Nat King Cole was singing to him. Today he sings in concert halls all over the world, charming with his unusual vocal abilities and also his charismatic personality. His first album “Water”, released in 2010, proved a great success, and the next ones “Be Good” and “Liquid Spirit” became so popular that the latter was downloaded through streaming services more than 20 million times! This is an all-time record in the jazz album category. The list of his successes is very long i.a. a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. The fans of Gregory Porter’s talent point to his signature cap. “It’s just my jazz hat,” he replies.
