On 13 & 14 January the Spanish Flamenco guitarist Cañizares debuts with NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo under Juanjo Mena’s baton playing Concierto de Aranjuez. Cañizares is a Flamenco star in Japan but these performances mark the first time he has ever collaborated with a symphonic orchestra there.
Following the recent success of his new Concerto Al Andalus for Flamenco guitar and orchestra, Cañizares will be playing with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Gävle Symfoniorkester amongst others. He has also replaced Milos recently with Cadaqués Orchestra and Florida Orchestra.
