Canizares premieres new concerto in Barcelona

Cañizares will be premiering his second guitar concerto ​‘Mediterranean’ with the Barcelone Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kazushi Ono on 30 November, 1 and 2 December. This follows on from performances of his first concerto, ​‘Al Andalus’ which will be performed with the Orchestre National de Lille on 22 and 23 November with Maestro Alexandre Bloch, and the orchestra the concerto will also be performing at the Philharmonie de Paris on 24 November. Since its premiere in 2016 by the Spanish Nation Orchestra, ​‘Al Andalus’ has been performed on numerous occasions including with the GiuseppeVerdi Orchestra in Milan and the Russian Philharmonic.

Later this season, Canizares performs New Year concerts with the Dresden Philharmonic and concerts with the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
