Francesco Tristano & Christian Schumann perform Tristano originals & Ravel in Lille
24/11/2017
In an exciting series of concerts featuring two Polyarts artists, Christian Schumann will debut alongside returning artist Francesco Tristano with the Orchestra National de Lille with concerts on 7 and 9 December at Auditorium du Nouveau Siècle and on 8 December at Schouwberg Courtrai. They will take over Lille with a marathon of works from Ibert’s Overture de fete and Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G through to Francesco’s own free piano concerto Island Nation and his Goldberg City Variationsproject with visuals.
This follows on from many successful debuts this season for Christian Schumann including Copenhagen, Warsaw and Oslo philharmonic orchestras. Both truly modern and multi-faceted artists, Christian Schumann continues to establish a reputation not only as an opera and symphonic conductor, but also as a leading international force in the contemporary world. Alongside Francesco Tristano, a key reference in a new movement exploring the creative intersection between classical music and other genres and art forms, these are concerts not to miss.
Following these concerts, Christian will conduct a series of film concerts of Harry Potter and Star Wars in Italy and Germany respectively before conducting Eotvos’ Three Sisters production at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
Francesco’s recent and upcoming highlights include: BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Festival Hall, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España, Cite de la Musique, Berlin Funkhaus and La Siene Musicale.
