Following on from their work with composer Caroline Shaw on the album Orange, today Attacca Quartet have been nominated for the ‘Best Chamber Music / Small Ensemble Performance’ at this years Grammy Awards. Composer Caroline Shaw has also received a nomination for ‘Best Contemporary Classical Composition’ for her beautifully constructed work of the album ‘Orange’.
Attacca Quartet and Pulitzer prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw released Orange on Nonesuch Records and New Amsterdam earlier this year, receiving critical acclaim by the media including BBC Radio 3, Noisey, Pitchfork or NPR which defined the imaginative sound of Orange as a “Love letter to string quartet”. Attacca Quartet recently joined Caroline Shaw on stage for the White Light Festival at Lincoln Center and will have their debut in London tonight at Kings Place alongside the composer.
