EÍMEAR NOONE CONDUCTS BBC PHILHARMONIC IN GROUNDBREAKING VIRTUAL CONCERT

Eímear Noone makes her BBC Philharmonic debut on 23 November in a groundbreaking concert in partnership with BBC Radio 3, bringing video game music to life with a Virtual Concert ‘The Sound of Gaming’. Audience members can attend in person to the concert, and virtually as a dedicated avatar.
Hosted by Elle Osili-Wood, this innovative concert, developed exclusively for BBC Radio 3’s Sound of Gaming as part of a pilot project in partnership with BBC Research & Development working in the MAX – R project with Improbable, will allow audience members to attend virtually as avatars directly from their browsers. The experience employs cutting-edge technology to let users explore, interact, and enjoy a live orchestral performance of music from the nation’s best-loved game soundtracks virtually from their own home.
“The Sound of Gaming concert project continues our commitment to making world-class classical music accessible to the widest possible audience”, BBC Philharmonic director Adam Szabo said in a press statement. “It reflects our dedication to creativity and innovation, bringing audiences closer to the music they love in new ways and connecting with new audiences in ways that are both meaningful and inspiring.”
Eímear Noone is also proud to announce new a Video Game in Concert programme, taking this project on the road to Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, Basel Sinfonieorchester, CBSO, and Bamberg Symphoniker, with further dates to be announced.
