Polyarts — in partnership with HarrisonParrott — is delighted to welcome conductor / composer Christian Schumann to its roster for global general management.
Described by Neue Zürcher Zeitung as “a shining star of the new German conductor generation” Christian Schumann is rapidly establishing a reputation not only as an opera and symphonic conductor but also as a leading international force in the contemporary, film and gaming music world.
Schumann’s passion for contemporary, film and gaming music has led him to conduct a number of major projects. Last week he made his debut at the MANCA Festival conducting J’accuse by Philippe Schoeller and also launched the OST for Battlefield 1 developed by EA Dice for which he conducted the original score by Johan Söderqvist with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Forthcoming highlights include two major film-in-concert productions of Disney’s Jungle Book and Eon’s James Bond-007 on tour across Germany’s major cities, as well as a return to the Krakow Film Music Festival.
Aside from these projects, Schumann has worked with numerous European orchestras. This week he makes his debut with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra but he has also conducted the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig and Brussels Philharmonic. In opera, most recently he has appeared at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Teatr Wielki in Warsaw.
