Ollie Howell and Francesco Tristano take to the stage in London as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival this month.
Ollie appears at 2pm on 12 November at the Forge in Camden. His group plays material from their “fine debut” (The Guardian) Sutures and Stitches as well as showcasing their new record, Self-Identity, set for release in March 2017. Watch Quincy Jones talking about Ollie to Sky Arts.
Francesco Tristano takes centre stage on the closing weekend of the Festival with the UK premiere of his free piano concerto, Island Nation. Francesco performs with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall on 19 November before giving a live electronic set in the Clore Ballroom. Francesco’s recent and upcoming highlights include Orchestre National de Lille, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Szczecin Philharmonic, Rheingau Music Festival, Alte Oper Frankurt and Thüringer Bachwochen.
