On 13 October Francesco Tristano gives the Polish premiere of his ‘free’ Piano Concerto, Island Nation, with the Szczecin Philharmonic and Rumon Gamba.
The performance is part of the orchestra’s #SoundLab series and Francesco immediately follows it with a live set in the lobby.
Hailed by Frankfurter Rundschau, as “a figure of hope who aims to inject his audience, a dwindling species of concertgoers interested in classical music, with fresh blood” this performance follows the successful premiere of the concerto at the Gewandhaus Liepzig with Kristjan Jarvi.
